Our Nanotechnology Platform
Integran Defense Systems' nanotechnology platform creates innovate materials with breakthrough performance characteristics using conventional materials processing infrastructure.
Bottom-Up Process
Nanocrystalline metals, alloys and composites (NanoplateŽ)
Via a patent-protected electrosynthesis technology, materials having average crystal sizes 1000-times smaller than those found in conventional materials can be inexpensively produced. The process can be used (1) as a bottom-up manufacturing method to produce an endless variety of near-net shape bulk components, (2) as a cost-effective means of producing precursor nanosized powders, or (3) to apply functional or protective wear and corrosion resistant coatings to conventional finished and semi-finished products. Nanocrystalline materials provide revolutionary improvements in functional and structural performance.

Typical Property Enhancements:
  • Strength >3X
  • Hardness >4X
  • Resilience >10X
  • Wear Resistance >10X
Top-Down Process
Grain boundary engineering (GBEŽ)
Via patent-protected thermomechanical processes (forming & heat treatment), the internal structure of conventional metals and alloys is optimized locally on a nanometer scale to yield breakthrough improvements in material reliability, durability and longevity.

Typical Property Enhancements:
  • Intergranular Corrosion & Cracking Resistance
  • Weldability
  • High Temperature Creep Resistance
  • Fatigue Resistance
  • Sulfidation Resistance
